Update Details: All versions of the IMS1 manual have been updated.
When setting up Integrated Management Systems the IMS1 manual is the key document as it provides a top-level overview of the management systems and links to all other key components.
The IMS1 manual is designed to be as user-friendly as possible and also to be as flexible as possible so it can be used by a variety of different companies with very varied management systems. Our own consultancy service makes full use of the IMS1 manual and based on feedback from consultants, end users and audits we've made a few updates to ensure the IMS1 remains the best starting point when setting up management systems.
Summary of changes;
- 1.5 Management of Documented Information and Data - this section was fully revised to make it clearer and easier to read with a short overview of when / why the /Draft/ and /Archive/ folders are used and further clarity on the difference between a document and a template to ensure document control is kept as simple as possible!
- Some update to the introduction on 1.6 Legal compliance - including a reference to isomanaged.com/iso-legal-update-service to make sure all users can demonstrate that fully compliant with ISO standards where required to demonstrate that have a source for legal & ISO updates (this update service is free for everyone who has ever purchased a toolkit or an alphaZ subscription!!)
- 8.2.5 Cloud computing - this section was fully revised and the default text now points at the recently updated F-IMS39 Cloud Computing Register and F-Q108 Cloud Emergency Exit Strategy Planning files
- Section 8.5 Information Security Policies - the listing of information policies was revised to reflect that most users now tend to make use of the sinlge PP-8-100 Information Security Policy Procedure file which includes all the required policies rather than individual information security policies and this page now reflects this setup (but can easily be amended if prefer to have lots of individual policies)
- Various other minor changes to text and internal links
